Air Zimbabwe announces that its customers who have booked the flight directly with it, should contact the airline directly for their ticket refunds, but those tickets that were booked by travel agents are to be claimed via same travel agency. For this reason, if incase an organization has not made contact with a customer of Air Zimbabwe, the customer must call the respective travel agency and obtain updated information on their case or the repayment schedule.
Ticket Refunds are asked, argued and followed by Travel Agency, for their clients where the reservation is made through an agency.
The refund process works one way, and that customers are informed by their travel agents or the airline whose flights are canceled and a refund, rerouting or replacement ticket options are made available via an agency in case where an agency is involved in the process of making flight reservation.
If a refund is applicable, travel agents can seek reimbursement from the airline on behalf of their clients. The process takes time to recovery of 6 to 8 weeks. Company policy is clear that travel agencies will be reimbursed for a longer period compared to Air Lines own reserves, and that the company will take 6-8 weeks to refund money for travel agents. Therefore, all travel agencies are advised to coordinate and advise their clients to claim refunds for canceled flights on time.
Although as of now the airline has not started its international direct flights to Harare but regional flights between Johannesburg and Harare are to be resumed. All Air Zimbabwe customers are to contact the airline for more information on the subject.
