According to a recent release, UK’s national airline British Airways will increase its checked baggage allowance for customers booking in full fare economy on all long haul flights with effect from 1 February 2011.
The new policy raises the checked baggage allowance for customers travelling in full fare economy (Y class) on all long haul flights from one to two pieces of baggage. The new allowance will apply to all new bookings from 1 February 2011.
However, British Airways Free Baggage Allowance is applicable on all Long Haul, European and UK domestic flights excluding flights to Ghana, Kenya, Brazil and Nigeria and through checked journeys through USA and India.
Further, to the above the airline has stated that the following changes will apply to any customer travelling from 1 February 2011, regardless of when the booking was made or when travel commenced:
