Earlier this month, the National carrier of South Africa, South African Airways (SAA) has welcomed its new country manager for UK and Ireland zone.The new country manager of South African airways, Mr. Gary Kershaw has a strong background and record of performance with cream of the crop International airlines of the world. According to abtn, he has started his career with the UK based airline Virgin Atlantic in 1991 and later joined the Canadian Airline.
He also worked for US Airways and the top Oceana carrier Air New Zealand prior joining the team at South African Airways. Mr. Kershaw has served as Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland in Air New Zealand. His previous experience is likely to make easier his new role as South African country manager in UK. However, being the operator of direct flight to Johannesburg and Cape Town, one of the world’s busiest tourist destinations, SAA is a very challenging airline. South African Airways Head of Continent Europe; Mr. Micheal Bentele described that Mr. Kershaw as ‘the ideal candidate to fulfill a vital role at SAA’ based on his two decades of experience in the field.
South African Airline operates flights from London Heathrow Airport. It is a star Alliance airline and offers code-share flights with British Airways. It’s important routes include flights to Harare, Durban, Cape Town, Nairobi and regional Africa routes.
