As per Mr. Mwenga (Air Zimbabwe General Manager for Europe & UK), the Zimbabwean flagship airline Air Zimbabwe has announced to fly tonight as the strike finally ends.
Mr. Mwenga stated while speaking with a Travel House UK representative that ‘We are happy and relieved to announce that Air Zimbabwe industrial action has ended‘.
In its official notification the carrier announced that flights from Harare to London, schedule for tonight and from London to Harare for tomorrow will be operating at normal schedule.
The cancelled flights, during the past weeks and the flights that did not operate are to be reimbursed to the customers. The carrier also suggested the travelers and agents should contact airline to reschedule dates that are approaching.
As reported by VOA yesterday, the airline has also leased a latest airplane (model Boeing 737-500) from Zambezi airline. The deal additionally includes staff services together with the leased plane. This advancement is widely praised by experts in the airline business and has been called a very timely and strategic move by Air Zimbabwe.
The Boeing 737-500 will help Air Zimbabwe in attaining a stable state and increased popularity at its most wanted Harare-London and Harare – Beijing routes.
As the flights are resuming, we hope that Air Zimbabwe recovers the losses this summer to keep serving as the only direct flights to Harare from London.
